FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MOST VULNERABLE

At the end of 2019, the Covid virus caused a global pandemic. Effective, easy to access, reliable hand sanitation to combat disease was and still is a challenge in Africa.

Shegeza is an African solution to stop the Covid-19 spread and to save lives. It also has a big role to play in broader hand sanitation challenges facing the continent.

Mobile

Shegeza can be transported and set up in places where the need is greatest, and moved around to respond to changing needs. Outside of train stations and taxi ranks, within high population areas like city centres and informal settlements, outside of medical clinics and schools.

Sanitation solution

It is a hand washing station that allows water to flow onto your hands when released by pressing a foot pump. The water contains a sanitisation solution that the World Health Organisation indicates is effective to combat the noval Covid virus, and other viruses that may live on human hands.

Filtered/Recycled/ Serviced

250-600 litre tanks which allow for up to 20 000 hand washes before the water tanks within the system need to be changed. This is because the system uses a specialised filtration mechanism integrated with the sanitisation solution.
